Activities
Art & Museums
Besides one of Paris' most known museum, the Louvre, don't miss Musée d'Orsay, which is located right across the Seine. Housing the largest collection of Impressionist worldwide, the museum is known for artworks by Vincent van Gogh »Self Portrait« or the »Starry Night over the Rhone«.
Situated inside Jardin des Tuileries and just a few minutes away from Musée d'Orsay, visit Musée de l'Orangerie, featuring eight compositions of The Water Lilies by Claude Monet. The artworks can be found on the upper floor in two interconnected oval-shaped exhibition rooms.
Hidden in Bois de Boulogne, Fondation Louis Vuitton was opened in 2014 and is hosting, next to Centre Pompidou and Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris, the biggest contemporary art exhibitions of the city. From 05.04.2023 to 28.08.2023 you can visit the temporary exhibition Basquiat × Warhol. Painting four hands, showcasing more than 300 works and documents.
Shopping
Rive Droite
If your looking for Chanel, Hermès & Fendi, Avenue Montaigne is the right place to shop at. Next to various luxury boutiques, you can find known restaurants like the L‘Avenue or the Hotel Plaza Athénée. Another more central street is Rue Saint Honoré, which features all major fashion houses. Don't forget to stroll through its side streets to not miss the original Chanel Boutique or the Kilian Perfume Store on Rue de Cambon. If you're someone who loves everything fragrances and skincare, walk from Place des Vosges along Rue des Francs Bourgeois up to Musée des Archives Nationales in Le Marais. From Diptyque and Caudalie to small independent boutiques - here you'll find everything you need to upgrade your wellness routine.
Rive Gauche
Our favorite arrondissement for shopping in Paris is the 6th. Next to the luxury department store Le Bon Marché, which was founded in 1838, you'll find Maison Margiela, Pierre Hermé and more on Rue de Grenelle. Even more small luxury boutiques are located around the area Sèvres-Babylone and Saint-Germain des Prés, far away from the busy and crowded streets of the Avenue des Champs Élysée and Boulevard Haussmann.
Macarons
No trip to Paris is complete without getting a coffret de macarons at Pierre Hermé. We recommend visiting the patisserie at 72 rue Bonaparte in Saint-Germain, which opened in 2001 and was the first of many stores that appeared in the streets of Paris. Next to the big variety of macarons, the haute pâtisseries are offering exquisite pastries and desserts, each crafted with an attention to detail.
Souvenirs
Specializing in perfumes and cosmetic products, Officine Universelle Buly 1803 boutiques in Paris offer customizable items, including lip balms (French: Baume des muses). After choosing the color, the texture of the pouch and the embossing of your initials, you can pick up your custom order in just 10 to 15 minutes. You can also add a hand-made embossing of your name or initials on their high-quality combs and hair brushes.
